The 17th of december 2014 Villa de Leyva, founded in 1572, celebrated 60 years of anniversary as a national monument. Every corner, landscape, colonial house and street that you will find in this beautiful Village holds a story. It has been conserved by generations of families, like us, that day by day work tirelessly to take care of our colonial houses and encourage visitors to fall in love of Colombia's architectonic patrimony and natural resources.
At the Hotel Molino la Mesopotamia we have a centenarian wheat flour mill and a mystic and majestic water spring in a fourth hundred years old colonial house, embellished with fossils, art, beautiful gardens and landscapes. But above all we have the joy of being part of the happy memories of the customers and families who have chosen to stay with us. Thank you for accompanying us in our journey.
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
We would like to recommend coloquial farmers entrepreneurship. Every saturday you can find Villa de Leyva's local market where the freshest fruit and vegetables can be bought. It is also visually quite an experience for outsiders. Half Moon biscuits (Galletas media luna) , Girl friends kisses sweets (besitos de novia) and fresh cheese with honey (Cuajada con melado) are centenarian culinary traditions of Boyacá and Villa de Leyva made by country side farmers.
